31 Mar How to motivate your team through stressful times
These are unprecedented, stressful times for a lot of people. For leaders in particular, they’re incredibly high-pressure.
You’re trying to keep your team motivated while scrambling to enable new ways of working virtually. You’re protecting your employees, but keeping them in collaboration. It’s tough.
Experts will always tell you that company culture is essential to keeping teams motivated. But when you’re all suddenly working from home, how do you keep company culture alive?
Clear, consistent communication is key, especially with a virtual environment.
A lot of the leaders I speak with in my work at Prestige Scientific are stepping up the rules of engagement in various ways.
For instance, they’re mandating stand-up meetings every Monday to align teams via Zoom or Google Hangouts. They’re insisting that team members keep their video on so as much face-to-face interaction as possible happens. And they’re personally checking in with team members over email, Slack or the phone, daily or at least every few days.
