Do more than just “sleep on it.”

Do more than just “sleep on it.”

When faced with a tough decision, most people say “I’m going to sleep on it.”

Time to think is important, but having a strategy to digest those thoughts is necessary.

Instead of just sleeping on it or getting tangled in your thoughts, Chip and Dan Heath recommend using the 10/10/10 rule:

  1. How will you feel about a decision 10 minutes from now?
  2. How about 10 months from now?
  3. How about 10 years from now?

Using this 10/10/10 rule gives you a timeline of separation from the tough decision and forces you to think of potential outcomes, which is much more productive thinking.

At Prestige Scientific, we see clients and candidates faced with tough decisions every day. Whether it’s hiring the right person or choosing the right company, we are here to help.
